BlueSky American Samoa

The future on the internet is GSM based broadband. This is a flashnet, SmartBro, Doogle and a host of other names.

The one that BlueSky uses looks like this.

As you can see, the rates are for MB usage. That’s the problem.

If you use 300MB per day, a very light day for me, that’s about 8.78GB a month or 8,990 MB. The highest plan, $59, will only last about 2 weeks. A busy day for me can be around 6.35GB which is over 195,000 MB per month. The cost would be over $2,700.

In order for BlueSky, to get me to use their services; they are going to have to offer unlimited internet on the USB for $50 or less.

At least, have the same rates as Vodafone in Fiji. They charge $39 for 10GB (10,240MB) and $41 for 20GB. That’s realistic!

Since we are in the United States and our markets is higher; I would not mind paying $50 for 10GB and $70 for 20GB. Guys like me can connect to a LAN. It would work….

…if BlueSky wanted it to work

What if you need to use the internet at a cafe or a resturant? How much will it cost you? Well, I have gathered the data for Samoa’s Lavaspot; American Samoa’s BlueZone; Fiji hotspots, and Philippine’s wifi at Coffee Bean.

As normal, Samoa is the leader against smaller American Samoa as well as larger Fiji and Philippines. As normal, the cost for each is about the same but the end user is paying 6100% higher for the wifi in Apia, Samoa than Pago Pago; just 77 miles away.

Where do you want to use the internet?
